Notes on Slavery I have read that in Mauritania slave women are raped and beaten. Their children become slaves. If the children become pregnant, their masters force premature birth by driving a car wildly back and forth until the fetus comes out -- dead. If a photographer takes pictures, the camera is confiscated by police. Hard to believe such details but I have no reason to doubt their truth.
