While many people think Margaret founded the Espresso Bar on Raymond, she did not become its owner until a few months after it was opened on Arroyo Parkway by Michael Thornberry. In this segment, Margaret recalls the first night the Espresso Bar opened in 1979. The photo shows Margarets close friend Kathleen Blanchard (Gordons cousin) at the Espresso Bar on Arroyo Parkway. This recording was made in 2008 sitting around a campfire in Port Townsend, Washington, where Margaret had moved to in the late 1980s. Two months ago, Margaret moved back down to Southern California, back living in South Pasadena where she grew up and lived when this story begins. It all comes full circle. 4min, 30 seconds.
