Nothing could have prepared us for my diagnosis of Stage 3a breast cancer in April 2013 after a routine mammogram. In early March my Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and 2 weeks later my husbands Mother was diagnosed with bile duct cancer. Sadly, my husbands mother lost her battle before the month of April was out. My Mother had surgery and we were relieved to learn that she was Stage 1 and would only need radiation after surgery. We laughed when we realized that she and I would both complete our treatments within days of each other in August 2013.
