Nothing here is the same as it was just a second ago despite appearances. Every second of every day things are slipping away from you, rearranging themselves, moving, coming into being only to fall away again... There is nothing to cling to in this world in spite of your desire for stability. Until you realize this peace will escape you. Until you can watch the world do its thing without identifying with it as self, as yours, your suffering and the suffering of those around you will be continuous. You cant control anything with any lasting effect. Seeing this allows you to operate in the world in a way that is compassionate and unbounded. When things come your way you accept them as they are with the knowledge that they will be gone from you sooner or later. This allows you to be with them in an authentic way without expectations or desperation to make them last. You can be completely present with them. In a way a true understanding of inconsistency heightens everything. That same bowl of cereal you have had every morning all of you life suddenly becomes a world of unique experience to be entered innumerable ways, never to return again. This is not to be confused with an excuse to attach to experience, in fact attaching to it will ruin its subtly. Its a call to be present and aware.
