Nothing is more emblematic of the gang mentality inherent in politics and religion than when I hear somebody choose sides in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict despite having little to no knowledge of the situation. If you have no experience living in the region or do not have comprehensive exposure to the history of the conflict, then it would be intellectually honest to simply admit that you dont really know the dynamics of the issue. The fact that a group on one side of the conflict holds religious beliefs that are compatible with your own or is from a country that is an ally of your own does not mean they are right in every instance, and that the other side is always wrong. And this is not an indirect diatribe against one side or the other. This is directly squarely at any uninformed persons who choose one side or the other due to their own blatant biases.
