Nothing like a Midnight Rendezvous Ovie and I were awaken to our dog barking, and this crazy noise outside our bedroom window on the back porch. My Love Bucket, My Hero, gets up to see what it is, while I peek out the window from the bed. I see 2 hairy hind legs, hanging on the porch post. Then I see it do a suicide fall to the ground. Thinking it was a cat after the bugs from the night light. Ovie comes back in and says: it had a mask on its face Me: do what Him: its like a raccoon with a mask Me: where is it Him: it is just sitting in the corner of the yard behind the light pole and then he goes back outside. So I put on my slippers and go join him, he is outside the fence, me still on the porch holding my gown up about mid thigh. Ovie said he needed a stick or something, and I grab him the wooden toilet paper holder, and he points for me to hand him the mop. Then he gets the shovel out of the shop. Well tries to whack it without hitting phone box and other wires. then it start trying to climb up the electrical pole and it is now by the meter. It is a Masked Racoon. Somehow it had its head stuck in a plastic jar. Ovie gets it down from the pole and whacks it with the shovel. I am constantly saying Ovie be careful it will claw you up. it starts running around, and I am thinking it is trying to come on the porch. Me dancing around still holding gown up with one hand and the wooden toilet paper holder in the other. Somehow it gets out the gate and me and ovie are inside the yard leaning over the fence. I go get a flashlight and the bb gun, cause I didnt want to wake the neighbors or give Matt Gill a heart attack with the pistol. I turn around and we have an audience. A big deer in the back, watching us. Apparently we were not very entertaining for a deer, because he runs off. So Ovie goes outside of fence me hot on his tail in my gown and house slippers. he has the shovel and light and I have the bb gun. Ovie whacks him with the shovel and he goes to front of house, and around the water hose, I finally grab light so he can use two hands. I am now spotlighting for him with one hand and holding up gown and bb gun with the other. Ovie whacks him, and he goes to front of the porch under the steps and out. and we are hot on his trail, he looks like he is leaving but makes a u turn. he starts coming back ovie whacks him again, and somehow he is now between me an Ovie and coming my way. I am dancing around trying to get away, holding the flashlight and the killer bb gun and my gown and I ping him with a bb ( which doesnt phase the masked raccoon) so he turns back and runs under Matts truck, so we go to other side he gets whacked again. and then he goes back under truck and out the other side, the whole time I am dying laughing thinking this has to be on some video somewhere. and Ovie is still whacking him. The darn thing wouldnt die.... Finally he is no match for My armed shovel whacking love bucket and he meets his death. Now I am wide awake
