Nothing like a fake controversy to deflect attention from your own misdoings. Fox is pretending to not get that the John Fogerty penned song, Fortunate Son is about hypocrites who hide behind the flag and phony patriotism to conceal their real, self-serving intentions and what that means for regular Americans who step up to serve: and when you ask em how much should we give, they only answer, more, more, more. Bruce Springsteen played the song at yesterdays Veterans benefit show in DC and the noise-machine is busy hawking a counterfeit interpretation of the song as being unAmerican. The thing is though, Springsteen has been a long standing advocate for Americas veterans. Just last week he played the Stand Up For Heroes benefit where he auctioned guitars, a lasagna dinner at his place, guitar lessons, etc, raising $300,000 for vets. Meanwhile, Foxs very own fortunate son, Sean Hannity has been involved in multiple scam charities, constructed by Republican political operatives, that have fraudulently claimed to help vets and the troops with all proceeds, while in reality most of the money went elsewhere, including to Tea Party political groups. As Springsteen said in introducing his song, Magic: Were living in Orwellian times where whats true can be made to seem like a lie and whats a lie can be made to seem true. So the songs really not about Magic. Its about tricks. See comments for more.
