Nothing the least bit surprising here. The founders wanted a press that was free for government interference. The role of the free press is to seek the TRUTH even when it is not what the Govt may want. This is vital in a free society. In a Marxist statist totalitarian society, the roll is the opposite. Progressive Marxists consider the press their tool. It should be used to dispense information as the State desires without regard to the truth. Like any tool it should not be over used. It must present a certain amount of factual information to maintain its credibility. Thus when a news outlet goes off the concerted script all manor of vitriol must be heaped upon such an institution. Thus the hysterical reaction to Drudge, Brietbart, FNC ect. That is why I do not (and have not for years) watched or read the mainstream media. I prefer to get NEWS reports not Progressive Marxist Democrat propaganda.
