Notice: The Poudre River is expected to reach flood stage by June 1st per the National Weather Service. Sections of the trail may be closed as the water level rises. This notice only applies to certain sections, and much of the trail is high and dry and will still be open for travel. Some areas that will likely experience flooding and may require closure are the areas around 59th Avenue to 71st Avenue (the Red Barn area) to 83rd Avenue (the area east of the Poudre Learning Center). Do not take shelter at underpasses if caught in a rain storm, the river level can rise rapidly, as it likely was raining upstream as well. Stay out of the water, even if shallow. Keep an eye on children and pets as floodwater can be deceptive, can move quickly and have a great deal of power.
