Noticed a young man in the neighborhood kept falling off his bike. I asked him if he was ok. He told me it wouldnt work right. Upon examination of the bike, his seat was too tall and it caused him to fall a lot. Because he fell, it locked his back tire up. I lubed his wheel, bent things back, and adjusted his seat for him. I then gave him an extra helmet that we had (the kids own like 10) and told him to be careful. That is what is meant when we say It takes a village. I could have ignored him and yelled at him for bumping into cars. Instead, I recognized that he needed help and I helped him. Hes riding along now beautifully and I feel good about lending a hand. All it cost me was 5 minutes of my time to make the rest of a kids summer.
