Noticias desde Gabon, parece que algo arde, otra vez huelga y parece general, con la experiencia que vivi alli cuando trabajaba en Port-gentil eso no sera por poco tiempo..... Lean: ONEP has started an unlimited strike in the oil and gas sector in Gabon. The main complaint is the current social security which is not seen as effective for employees. ONEP wants those social security deductions to stop immediately and has ended the negotiation with government to enter in a strike. Oil and gas companies are affected at different levels from few employees not working to complete stop of operation. In addition, Water and Electricity, TV, Gabon Telecom some universities as well as part of customs are joining the strike. While there is no major impact on this first day of the strike, we have learned that things can escalate very quickly in Port-Gentil. Moreover, many connecting flights to Port-Gentil have been cancelled due to lack of fuel for the planes. In this situation which is potentially chaotic, and until further notice, all trips to Gabon should be strictly limited to business essential or critical activities
