Nous sommes Charlie Hebdo and we are also the NAACP, both subject to terrorist attacks this week carried out by hate-filled individuals, not entire religions or ethnicities, not all Muslims or all white people. The attack on #CharlieHebdo is horrifying, and the #NAACPBombing, an age-old tactic of violent intimidation of civil rights activists in America, are chilling. Condemn the violence, but stay critical of the labels that are used to characterize some terrorist attacks but not others.
