Nov. 22 E-News from the Pews: This Sunday is Reign of Christ/Christ the King Sunday. It is the last Sunday in the Church Year. Christ the King/Reign of Christ Sunday invites us to reflect on the cosmic character of Christ’s reign over the world. As we begin to think about Christmas, Christ the King Sunday is timely as it encourages us to remember that as we celebrate the arrival of God in the flesh, the child in the manger whose birth we celebrate was also destined to wear a crown of thorns… the vulnerable child in the manger was the “Prince of Peace,” whose reign still proclaims peace, love, justice, liberation, and above all, service. Please remember that this Sunday we will ordain three new elders: Linda Crain, Andy Green, and Merritt Scott. Following service, we will have an Advent/Christmas decorating party.
