Nov. 25th - There is a reason that David the Psalmist raises the question: what is man that God is mindful of him. There is a reason that you and I are still here today, and that the human species is not extinct. Other plants and animals have long ceased to exist but mankind is still present. How has man survived and not been consumed by the traumatic events that have taken place on this planet? There is one answer, because God is with us. God is not only with believers, He is present amongst the entire human population. As descendants of the Adamic seed we are still here, alive and thriving because God is with us. Certainly there are those that have died in our family lines, parents, grandparents, and others across the generations, but as a human population, we are still here. No matter what types of problems and challenges we are facing even today, God is with us. The passage in Matthew describes the set up for the birth of the Messiah. A virgin shall be with child and bring forth a son and his name shall be called Emmanuel, which being interpreted means: God is with us. At that very point in human history, God placed a footnote to say that He was here and present among man. God made himself present physically among His creation. God has never disbanded His creation but He uses the birth of Messiah to indicate His intentional presence at that time among humanity.
