Nov 30, 2006: Los Angeles Kings @ Phoenix Coyotes 4-7 The last few seconds that led to this fight would prove to be among the most controversially talked about things in hockey in the latter weeks of 2006. Georges Laraque asked Raitis Ivanans whether he wanted to go while micd up and gave him good luck before the fight. The arguments were that staged fighting should be stopped and that the only room for fighting was when your pissed off. Ivanans and Laraque have a long squareoff. Ivanans wades in missing a few lunging rights. Laraque misses a few lefts as they spin around. Georges gets in a little closer and lands a couple of lefts, the second knocking Ivanans helmet off. Ivanans slips to the ice but gets up and avoids a couple of Laraque lefts. They each land a decent left at the same time and grab on. Laraque gets the takedown. This was a fairly even battle. They each appeared to land one decent punch. Though Laraque may have been a bit steadier, Ivanans was more aggressive. Draw.
