Nov. 3rd: ITS NICE TO BE BACK IN THE BIG CITY....... We had a great four days in Florida but its always nice to be back home. We ran into some former (I didnt say old) Millen friends in Fernandina Beach. Kelly told me how much she enjoys my thoughts on running and walking. She even told me about running in the Color Run 5K in Augusta a couple of weeks ago. Way to go Kelly....keep it up and keep me posted on your physical conquests!!!!! I competed in the Gator-Bulldog 5K in downtown Jacksonville on Friday night. The race started and ended at a park near the river at 6 p.m. It was a great race, my time was a little slow, 30:04, but I got a nice plaque for finishing 2nd in my age group. And I know you are wondering.................the answer is..............YES....there was a 3rd place!!!! I wanted to get in one more long run before the Rock N Roll Half next Saturday, so I was up early yesterday for an 8 mile run. It was slow but I enjoyed the morning. As that wise all seeing, all knowing, mysterious visitor from the far east, Yarrellim, would say, The hay is in the barn....just enjoy the rest of the week. Today was a day off, Monday is 4 easy miles, Tuesday is 3, Wednesday and Thursday will be about 2 miles just to keep the kinks out. Friday is a day of rest and then its up and atem Saturday morning for 13.1 in Savannah. Now for our walking next week. As you well know, its getting darker kind of early now. That means we are going to have to do just a bit more planning for our walks. If you have to walk after dark, try to find a friend to walk with you. Make sure you wear light colored clothing and dont play with those cars. You weigh about 130 pounds.......that car coming at you at 55 miles per hour weighs over 4,000 pounds. Do the math!!!!! BE CAREFUL!!!!! Monday - Lets get the week off to a brisk start....about 40 minutes. Tuesday - Lets back off just a bit and do an easy 30 minutes today. Wed. - This is a make up day or just an easy 20 minutes if you dont want to take a day off. Thurs. - Today is a brisk 40 minutes Friday - This is an easy, rose smelling day....about 20 minutes of easy walking. Saturday - Lets get it on today and get in a 45 minute walk. Sunday is a day of Church and rest. Go ahead an plan out your week and stick to your plan. MAKE SOME ME TIME!!!!! Youll be glad you did............and so will I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
