Nov. 4: what I had planned to write for today got trumped by the Breaking News this morning. If a parent sees the words shots fired associated with the school your child attends, an instant, horrifying chill goes through your body as many possible scenarios play out in your mind. Fortunately, my fears were quickly put to rest as I learned that the shots were fired by police chasing a suspect, who is now in custody and nobody else was harmed. Today, I am SO THANKFUL that those shots were not directed at ISU students or staff nor were any harmed during this high speed chase onto campus.
