Nov 8 - Update on Wyatt the Warrior! In case you havent been following Wyatts page, it looks like hes going to have at least a month of in patient rehabilitation. Please look at our wall, if youd like the link to his page. (It doesnt share well, so Ive excluded it from this post.) Id still like to gather up as much as we can as quickly as we can, in case this changes - but I am EXTENDING THE DATE for our care package delivery, until December 7th. Weve added a few things to the care package list - and they are in priority order (most important items on top), and listed at the end of this message. If you can contribute in any way, please message this page, email papafoundation@hotmail, or call or text me directly at 586-291-1651. I am in Eastpointe, Michigan, and willing to drive at least one hour to pickup items for this. If youre further than an hour out, we can meet somewhere in the middle, or try to make other arrangements. If you wish to drop items off, please call or text me, and Ill give you my address and a good time to stop by. Furthermore - there is a fundraiser event taking place on Sunday, November 24th, from 9pm to 2 am, at Wellington Pub, in Sterling Heights. They will be accepting cash donations and gift card donations (specifically lowes or home depot preferred, as the home must be renovated to keep baby Wyatt safe), as well as doing a few raffles (so if you have a raffle item to contribute - let Jenni Stein, the event coordinator, know about it, please!), and other things that night. Check out: https://facebook/events/613599955367190/ to join the event, get specific details about it, and help support this family in need. I will be present for at least a short time at the start of the event - Im trying to make special arrangements to stay longer, but no guarantees at present. :) The cash donation website is doing amazingly well, but, that shouldnt stop us from sharing the link and spreading the word, even if we cant afford to contribute to it, or have chosen other ways of helping. At present, $1,850 has been raised, but we do not yet know how much specialized care this little boy will require. Even something as simple as a feeding chair for toddlers with special needs can run $300 to $800 or more. So little is known about the extent of the damage at this point, its hard to tell what may or may not be needed. Mom lost her job a few weeks ago, and could use all the help we can find for her. If you, or someone you know, wants to donate money through the webpage, they can do that at: youcaring/other/wyatt-the-warrior/103636 Thank you all so much. If all of us do a little bit, a whole world of change will happen. Welcome Home Care Package items needed for Baby Wyatt the Warrior: 1. A stand alone freezer. Used is fine, so long as it works! Ill even clean it, if its dirty. :) We want to try to provide a months worth of meals, and this is the only way we could come up with to store that much food. Whatever size freezer we end up with, we want to fill it for momma and Wyatt! 2. Easy to prepare, or heat-n-serve meals. Please think freezable and Single Serving or serving for two. Its just mom and Wyatt - and little Wyatt is having trouble keeping his formula down at present, so it may be a while before hes ready for solids again in any kind of quantity. Homemade meals would be awesome - store bought meals would be great, too. Mom needs to focus on Wyatt for the first month back home, not on keeping herself fed and fueled. No known food allergies in either mom or Wyatt. 3. Diapers, wipes, creams and powders. Diapers in size 3, please. (we have already received a 124 ct. box) If we manage to get more than 6 months worth of diapers, Ill start asking for size 4. :) 4. Clothes for baby Wyatt the Warrior. Hes currently in 12-18 month sized clothes. We will accept bigger sizes, if theyre new or in like-new condition. Boots and/or shoes in size 4 or 5 (Im guessing here) or bigger. If anyone has a like new snowsuit in the 12-18 month range, that would be great, too. Ive got a 2 T blue snowsuit - but I think it will be too big on him just yet. :) 5. Whole milk for Wyatt. Or if youd prefer, you can pick up a Kroger gift card, in any dollar amount, so mom can use them for milk or other food items as needed - since an over abundance of milk all at once would be bad. :) 6. Christmas Presents for Wyatt and mom. Okay, I know this really isnt a NEED.... but with Wyatt not leaving the hospital for at least a month from now, I really doubt Christmas shopping is anywhere near the top of moms list of important things to worry about. Wyatt deserves a nice Christmas at home, and I hope hell be discharged at least a week or two before Christmas - but, if we can put a little something together for them to share on Christmas - even if its only one or two items for each of them - Id like to see us pull that off. :) I have been told that Wyatt loves the Wiggles, Elmo, Thomas the Train, and his bedroom is an under the sea theme. Mom is a deeply religious person, and is Catholic, so I know Christmas will be an important day for her. Feel free to wrap the items and/or attach a personalized card - Just please remember to label it with either Wyatt or Erica (Mom), so we know who its for. Lets do our best to make it special for them both! Thank you all so much for your support! Feel free to contact me by any of the methods mentioned at the top of the message if you have any questions or concerns. ---Kat
