Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Launches Diabetes Support Group Are you or someone you know struggling to manage diabetes, feeling burned out, or getting confused by mixed messages in the media? You are not alone and that is why Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center is launching a free support group for those touched by diabetes to learn factual updates in diabetes care, receive support and share encouragement. The first session will be held on Tuesday, January 21st from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the diabetes education classroom at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center located on 207 Old Lexington Road. This month’s meeting will include a mini -talk on foot care presented by Cullen Reilly, MD, with Novant Health Pinnacle Orthopaedics. No physician’s order is required and the support group is open to anyone touched by diabetes. Light refreshments will be served and pre-registration is requested. “Our hope is that this free support group will encourage those who have diabetes and assist them in an information setting to better understand how they can take control of their diabetes and not let it control them,” said Marcy Shipwash, wellness and diabetes nurse navigator for Novath Heatlh Thomasville Medical Center.
