November 13 Song: In The Valley Artist: Connie Smith Music Link: youtube/watch?v=Goua04staXQ Here is a Dottie Rambo song performer by Connie Smith. I hope you like it. The song today reminded of a story in John 9. The story begins with Jesus healing a blind man and those around him began to ask what sin in his life had caused the man’s condition of blindness. Jesus explained that neither the sin of the man’s parents nor the man’s sin had caused the blindness. So what was the cause of the man’s blindness? This man was blinded to fulfill God’s inscrutable purposes! We have a hard time understanding how God can allow pain and suffering if he truly loves us! This is especially true when that pain and suffering lands directly on our plate. But God makes it clear our sin is what continues to destroy lives and society. It is sin that disturbs God perfect plan for us and his creation. And sin will continue to destroy lives and souls until Jesus returns to conquer all sin and brings salvation and reconciliation with God, the father. We should always remember that Jesus understands our sufferings. He understands our despair. The Bible is clear Jesus did not just take on my sin when hanging of the cross. He endured the entire sin of all mankind and this sin was not spread out in little doses over a life time. This valley of despair was poured out on him over the period of a few hours. In Acts 4:27-28 we see that Jesus suffering at the hands of Rome and Israel was predestined because it was a part of God’s plan to save the world. The 23 Psalm is the one set of bible passages that every Christian knows and through it God gives us the assurance of his provision and protection. If you are in that valley today, hold on because God will bring you out a place you on a mountain top. Verse of the Day: Psalm 23:1-6 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want . 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies : thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever .
