November 22, one of my favorite days of the year for so several - TopicsExpress

November 22, one of my favorite days of the year for so several reasons. 1. It is my wedding anniversary. Yup 11 years married to an amazing hubby, daddy, and friend 2. My girls were released from the Nicu at UAB on Friday November 21 after weeks being there. Between three cars (we had my car, a dear friend who had stayed with me that week, and Paul came up the day of the release), stopping every ten minutes per nurses orders because we didnt have an extra person to ride in the back with the girls they were concerned with them being little their heads could fall forward and theyd stop breathing. And five O clock traffic, stopping every little while to try and nurse and pump when that didnt work. Gay Duncan Wilson remember the bathroom change in the gas station? We finally made it home just past midnight with our girls for the first time on our anniversary. Then Don Wilson was there waiting so Paul Davis and he could put our Angel care monitors in but that required plywood being cut at midnight. Thank goodness they did because it went off on SE the first night when she quit breathing and it alerted us and the plywood was needed under the mattress. Cheri Hice Hughes had painted my nursery for me. As crazy at it was we were home after a long road getting there and all the more special it was November 22. After no sleep the rest of that night and no clothes for our children as newborn was to big and we didnt know till they day they came home they were coming home so we had no clothes. Paul went to the Geneva, Alabama Walmart and bought out the preemie section of clothes (mostly boys stuff) and came home and put both girls in their bouncy seats on vibrate side by side with their stuffed hand zakys surrounding them He watched them so I could rest. He still is a good partner in raising our kids! 3. On of my precious nephews has a birthday today and I was honored to be in the delivery room the whole day and labor with his mom Kirbie Smith Compston. My mom Jan Toland Smith and I were self proclaimed doulas. I mean we made our own shirts that said doula on them. Have no fear your doulas are here was our mantra for KIRBIE and I am sure we helped here through that 17 hour plus process with no epidural! You rock sister! And happy birthday precious boy Jackson I love you! So yes this is a book but I do love this day and if you made it to the end of this story then I like to think You must hold me somewhat near and dear to your heart to have made it this far ;) !
