November 23-December 2, 2014 Day 280-289 It has been a busy 10 days. We sure didnt mean to miss our updates this long. So, last Wednesday Evie has an appointment with the Neuro-developmental doctor. The doctor was very proud of Evie for meeting her milestones. Evie should be 7 months and meets most of those developmental points. Evie also touches on a few of the 9 month milestones. Here are a few of the highlights. Evies head measures at the 5% normal scale! This is her first time on the normal baby chart and we are excited. The rest of her body is still preemie scale but heads grow first and the body follows, according to our specialist. Pops took us to Grand Rapids because Daddy had to work and Grammy went to be with Great-Grpa and Grma. Great-Grpa is still recovering from his stroke. We had a wonderful time together. A few days after getting home, Evie developed a high temperature of 102 degrees. After 2-3 days of a fever she broke out with a rash. We talked to the doctor and they are thinking Sixth disease. Great-Grma said it is normally 3 days coming, 3 days here and 3 days going. That fit Evies symptoms perfectly. She is finally feeling better and back to her happy self. Her teeth are so cute. Her top gums are really swollen so we think her song is, All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth! We wouldnt be surprised to see some new teeth breaking through in the next week or two. We had a great thanksgiving with family. Aunt Kelsey and Uncle Graham came up from Indiana. We all convened at Grammy, Pops and Uncle Wesleys house. The food was wonderful and our time together was so much fun. We have found that Evie loves men with beards. Uncle Graham shaved his beard do to being a basketball coach, and Evie cried whenever he held her. Poor guy was heartbroken. He promises to grow it back! The nutritionist called yesterday and wanted us to start a new feeding regiment for Evie. We started it yesterday and Evie has lost 2 ounces. We are frustrated and will have to call them tomorrow. Please be praying for us and Evie as we try to change her feeding schedule. Evie has been taking some bottles and that is exciting. We are encouraging more food and hope Evie will take off gaining weight. She is still very low on the weight chart. We have some pictures to share of normal newborn lungs and preemie lungs. You will be able to see why it is important for preemies to be safe during influenza season. We hate that winter is pretty much here and we do not look forward to the unhealthy season. We are praying Evie will stay healthy all winter. We hope you enjoy the pictures and videos from these last 10 days!
