November 26, 2014 - Today I am grateful for rediscovering the meaning of Christmas. About a month ago, immediately after Halloween, I had become frustrated with the stores setting up all the Christmas displays and them playing Christmas music every day. Then theres the stress that comes along with having to come up with presents for everyone I know. The commercialism of this special day just devalues all it stands for. I just did not want to deal with Christmas this year. Even though I had somewhere to go tonight, I had stopped in at the Mesa Temple Visitors Center anyway. Not long after I had bumped into some familiar faces. Hermana Briana Castillo and Hermana-Leslie Alcocer invited me to watch this short film produced by the Church about discovering the meaning of Christmas. I believe that Christmas means a little something different to each of us. This year I am going to put in an extra effort to serve others. Also, I figured I could use prints of my photos, spiced up with personalized notes to the recipients, as Christmas gifts. There wont be a mad rush of trying to find something meaningful to those I know and love. I can use the talents that God has given me and share the beauty with those I love. To me, that is the meaning of Christmas. Thank you Sister Castillo and Sister Alcocer for being so inspired to share that message that I really needed to hear! #ShareTheGift #ShareGoodness
