November 26 GOD’S PRESENCE PROSPERS And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. Genesis 39:2-3 Nothing can be compared to God’s presence in the life of a man. It is this presence of God that distinguishes a man from the crowd. Divine presence is the main distinguishing factor between a believer and a non-believer; not necessarily the way they dress as some have erroneously claimed. Those who have Jesus as their Lord and Saviour have the presence of God with and in them; and the unbelievers do not. There is therefore a huge difference between Christians and non-Christians. The divine presence of God makes all the difference. The bible tells us about Joseph who was sold into slavery by his own brothers. Those who bought him in turn sold him to the captain of Pharaoh’s guard called Potiphar. And the scripture says “And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand” (Gen 39:2-3). He was a slave but the Lord was with him; thus, he was prosperous. It was the divine presence that made Joseph prospered as a slave. God’s presence was so evident in the life of Joseph that his master noticed that the Lord was with him. Does that mean that Potiphar could see into the spirit and understand divine matters? Not really! Potiphar only discovered that things prospered in the hand of Joseph. Potiphar saw a big difference between Joseph and the rest. He knew that there was something supernatural about Joseph; he might not be able to explain it. Joseph’s prosperity was directly linked to God’s presence in his life. If the presence of God made Joseph to prosper; the same presence will make you to prosper and succeed in all your endeavours. God was with Joseph and he prospered; God is with you and everything you set out to do will prosper too. He is the same God. The scripture says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8). The Lord also said in Malachi 3:6: “For I am the LORD, I change not...” What He did for Joseph, He has done much more for you. The Lord is not only with you today but He’s also in you (1Corinthians 3:16; 6:19). His power is resident in you today and always. Paul the Apostle said by the Spirit “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” (Eph 3:20). You’re destined to prosper in whatever you do by the reason of God’s presence with and in you. God’s presence has given you an edge in life; it has put you in a position of advantage. Walk in the consciousness of this reality today and ever; God is with you always! Prayer The Lord is with me therefore, I prosper in all my endeavours.
