November 27, 2013 The Clowning Achievement By Jakrapob Penkair When the opposition is split in two: one launching a no-confidence debate in the House of Representatives, and the other one seizing the streets and governmental offices, it is hard to pay equal attention to either one of them. Thailand’s opposition at the moment decides, for now, to combine a mob rule and a parliamentary system. The offspring is probably a half-breed specie, which can’t survive for long. The ruling Pheu Thai party / government, with UDD tagged along, is branding the Democratic party, at least a faction of theirs, the hooligans of democracy, as well as a poisonous snake when it comes to such an ongoing debate in the system. The Democratic party retorts that the government side is nothing but Thaksin’s reflection and shadow, all the blames and blemishes directed toward the man, and vows to take him-them down for good. After six full years of continual conflict, the Thai people still struggle to understand the root cause of this self-beating masochistic operation. One quietly suggests that the ultimate puppeteer may not be among the names being bashed so publicly on both sides of the isle. Well, let try to restart somewhere before being sucked down into an infamous southeast asian quagmire of Vietnam’s calibre. Look more closely at the first day’s no confidence debate and one will see. Won’t there be anything in the process we can improve, so the so-called civil and democratic tool here can help preventing round and round of physical clashes and possibly another bloodshed? I think so. Power of words is already enormous in politics. But the power of strategically-placed and well-researched information tops it all. Listening to the Democratic debates all day or at any time, one can’t feel nothing except petty grudges and the obsession of one man who is not even there: Thaksin Shinawatra. This is a battle to put Thaksin as the root cause of the crisis and nothing else. While it is perfectly legitimate to scrutinise him at times, as an elected prime minister toppled and smeared by a military takeover, Thai politics has moved on. People’s participation on both sides, though trickily guided, is stronger than ever. No politics matters if people refuse to participate. The Democratic party should elevate their scrutinies into the level of philosophical differences among the Thais today. Take a bird‘s eye view instead of small-alley tactics. When I was a high-school student, no one could debate like those in the Democrat party. When I became middle-aged, no one in that party makes sense anymore. Except the reformist Alongkorn Pollabut, perhaps. The Pheu Thai, too, can elevate the process by listening and playing down unnecessary interruptions. To pay attention to the opposition is not to upstage them. It is to upstage the Pheu Thai party itself in the midst of irrational Thailand. If not for anything, appear sane among the insane can be seen as quite a virtue. Both sides must bear in mind that the public is actually watching. This is not a clown show to appeal to a one-man sovereign, but to the ignored local faces moving closer to reclaim Thailand’s genuine ownership. Watch out, the people are judging. ****************************************** (แปล) ความสำเร็จอย่างตลก (หลวง) จักรภพ เพ็ญแข เมื่อพรรคฝ่ายค้านแตกออกเป็นสองเสี้ยว เสี้ยวหนึ่งเปิดอภิปรายไม่ไว้วางใจรัฐบาลตามกลไกของสภาผู้แทนราษฎร อีกเสี้ยวหนึ่งออกมายึดถนนหนทางและอาคารราชการ ออกจะเป็นการยากที่เราจะตามดูทั้งสองเสี้ยวอย่างเต็มที่ได้ ฝ่ายค้านของไทยขณะนี้ตัดสินใจจะผสมพันธุ์ระบบฝูงชนป่วนเมืองและระบบรัฐสภาเข้าด้วยกัน ลูกที่ออกมาจากการร่วมเพศแบบนั้น น่าจะเป็นคนครึ่งพันธุ์ที่มีอายุไม่ยืนยาวนัก ในฝั่งพรรคเพื่อไทยและรัฐบาลเพื่อไทยก็ตราหน้าพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ว่าเป็นพรรคอันธพาลครองเมือง หรืออย่างน้อยก็เสี้ยวหนึ่งของพรรคนั้น และว่าเป็นงูพิษที่เลื้อยไปมาระหว่างการอภิปรายไม่ไว้วางใจ พรรค ประชาธิปัตย์โต้กลับด้วยการบอกว่า ฝ่ายตรงข้ามก็ไม่ใช่อะไรอื่นเลยยกเว้นแต่ภาพสะท้อนและเงาของ ดร.ทักษิณ ชินวัตร และโทษทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างไปที่ตรงนั้นหมด ตกลงเราสู้กันนานถึงหกปี แต่ก็ยังไม่รู้แจ้งกันเลยว่าสาเหตุอันแท้จริงของการทำร้ายตัวเองของประเทศไทยนั้นคืออะไร มีเสียงพูดเบาๆ ขึ้นว่า คนเชิดหุ่นตัวจริงเขาไม่ได้รวมอยู่กับตัวละครทั้งหลายที่กำลังตีกันไปมาอย่างรุนแรงเสียด้วยซ้ำ เอาล่ะ ถ้าอย่างนั้นเราควรลองจับตรงไหนสักตรงหนึ่งมาเป็นจุดเริ่มต้น ก่อนถูกดูดหายลงไปในทรายดูดที่สร้างชื่อเสียงให้กับย่านนี้มาตั้งแต่ครั้งสงครามเวียดนาม ลองมองที่การอภิปรายไม่ไว้วางใจวันแรกและเราก็จะพอมองเห็น มีตรงไหนที่เราจะช่วยกันปรับปรุงและยกระดับเครื่องมือทางรัฐสภาชิ้นนี้ ซึ่งคนเขาว่ากันว่าเป็นวิธีอารยะและเป็นประชาธิปไตย เพื่อป้องกันการปะทะและการนองเลือดได้บ้างไหม โดยส่วนตัวผมแล้วเชื่อว่ามี อานุภาพของถ้อยคำมีอยู่แล้วอย่างล้นเหลือในวงการเมือง แต่สิ่งที่เหนือกว่านั้นคือข้อมูลที่ค้นคว้ามาอย่างดีและนำเสนออย่างมียุทธศาสตร์ ฟังคนของพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ในวันแรกนี้แล้วก็ไม่เห็นอะไรอื่นเว้นแต่การบ่นว่ากันเหมือนคนด่ากัน และรู้สึกถึงความหมกมุ่นต่อคนๆ เดียวที่ไม่ได้อยู่ในที่นั้นด้วยซ้ำ นั่นคือ ดร.ทักษิณ ชินวัตร ซึ่งก็เป็นจุดประสงค์ของฝ่ายเขาที่จะยัดเยียดให้ทักษิณเป็นสาเหตุหลักของวิกฤติการณ์ทางการเมือง ความจริงการวิพากษ์คุณทักษิณเป็นเรื่องที่มีเหตุผลอยู่บ้าง ในฐานะหัวหน้ารัฐบาลที่มาจากการเลือกตั้งและถูกยึดอำนาจด้วยกำลังทหาร ตลอดจนถูกสาดโคลนใส่มาตั้งแต่ตอนนั้น แต่การเมืองไทยได้ก้าวหน้าไปกว่านั้นแล้ว มวลชนของแต่ละฝ่าย ถึงบางครั้งจะถูกล่อลวงมาร่วมด้วยเล่ห์เหลี่ยมต่างๆ บ้าง ได้เพิ่มการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองของตนเองอย่างแข็งแรง ประชาธิปัตย์ควรถือโอกาสนี้ยกระดับตัวเองขึ้นมาชวนถกเถียงในขั้นปรัชญาทางการเมือง ซึ่งเป็นความขัดแย้งอันแท้จริงในสังคมไทยทุกวันนี้ บินให้สูงและมองภาพกว้างอย่างนก หยุดการวิ่งไปมาในซอยและมองแต่มุมต่ำ เมื่อผมเป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยม ไม่มีนักการเมืองค่ายไหนจะอภิปรายได้ดีไปกว่าประชาธิปัตย์อีกแล้ว แต่เมื่อผมเข้าสู่วัยกลางคน แทบไม่มีนักการเมืองประชาธิปัตย์คนไหนที่ใช้เหตุผลในการต่อสู้อีกเลย อาจจะเว้น คุณอลงกรณ์ พลบุตร ที่พยายามจะปฏิรูปพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ไว้คนหนึ่ง ฝ่ายเพื่อไทยก็เช่นเดียวกัน สามารถช่วยยกระดับเกมนี้ได้ด้วยการฟังฝ่ายตรงข้ามและยั้งๆ การประท้วงเพื่อยุติสกัดการอภิปรายของฝ่ายตรงข้ามลงเสียบ้าง การเป็นผู้ฟังที่ดีมิใช่ดีต่อพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ แต่เป็นการยกระดับพรรคเพื่อไทยเองในการเมืองไทยปัจจุบันที่แทบจะหาเหตุผลอะไรไม่ได้ หากไม่รู้ว่าจะทำตัวเป็นคนดีไปทำไม ก็ลองคิดว่า หากเราวางตัวเป็นคนสติดีท่ามกลางคนบ้าเสียบ้าง ตัวเราจะงามแค่ไหนในระยะยาว ทั้งสองฝั่งต้องตระหนักตลอดเวลาว่า สาธารณชนกำลังเฝ้ามองอยู่ นี่ไม่ใช่เวลาของตลกหลวงที่แสดงหน้าพระที่นั่งแบบยุโรปสมัยกลาง แต่เป็นการทำงานต่อหน้าประชาธรรมดาทั่วประเทศที่ถูกละเลยมานาน และกำลังจะทวงประเทศนี้คืน โปรดระวังให้ดี ประชาชนกำลังจะพิพากษาแล้ว. ****************************************** เกาะติดสถานการณ์ต่อต้าน คัดค้าน พ.ร.บ.นิรโทษกรรม, สถานการณ์การเมืองที่กำลังร้อนแรง เชิญสมัคร SMS - TPNews ของ คุณจักรภพ เพ็ญแข ทุกระบบ เพียงเดือนละ 29.- วิธีสมัคร : ระบบ AIS เพียงกด *455240415 แล้วโทรออก ระบบ DTAC กด *45521460141 แล้วโทรออก ระบบ TRUE เข้าเมนูเขียนข้อความ พิมพ์ pn ส่งมาที่เบอร์ 4552146 พิเศษ สำหรับผู้สมัครใหม่ สมัครวันนี้ รับข่าวฟรี 14 วัน
