November 27th - Day 27 of Thankfulness…I am thankful for grocery stores, the people who own and work in them and having the ability to go shopping. Many people around the globe do not have that luxury. We have refrigerators and freezers to store our food. We have pantries and shelves where we can stock up for the month. Yet many go day by day and even moment by moment not knowing where their next meal will come from. We are a blessed nation. Even our poor here in America are rich in comparison to many third world nations around the globe. I think of the people in the Philippines struggling to get back on their feet after this disaster came upon them. I am so thankful that I again was able to purchase a goat for a leprosy family in India to help them have a way to survive not just this moment but day by day and month by month. The goat will give milk that can be made into cheese and they can breed the goat for more goats to build a herd for their family. Because this village is comprised of people with leprosy the missionaries have been allowed to help. Their government who usually would not allow missionaries into the area have allowed them in and allowed them to minister to these hurting people with so little hope. I am thankful for missionaries that in spite of the risks to their own health and well-being are willing to go and willing to be a help and a blessing.
