November 29, 1986 - 28 Years Ago Today: Anita Baker debuted at No. 93 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with her single, Caught Up In The Rapture. This was the second of four singles released from her 2nd studio and breakthrough album, Rapture, to chart on the Hot 100 peaking at No. 37 following the lead-off, Sweet Love, which peaked at No. 8. The remaining two singles to chart (Sweet Ole Love (365 Days A Year) and No One In The World) both peaked at No. 44, however, all four singles peaked inside the Top Ten on the Billboard AC chart. The album peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified quintuple-Platinum. Baker earned two Grammys for Best R&B Song (with co-writers Gary Bias and Louis Johnson) and Best Female R&B Vocal for the album. Original picture sleeve posted below on this music page.
