November 29,2014 Saturday 34th Week in Ordinary Time Lord, rouse my spirit to the Truth that the world is passing away and that I must realize that death is the door to my real life. Grant me a sense of urgency as You awaken me from my spiritual drowsiness or carelessness that I may see both the treats and opportunities for my life of grace. May I never be so engrossed and absorbed with material matters and concerns that make me unable to pursue my spiritual life and vocation with a clear and focused attention. Teach me to be vigilant so that my heart may not have the tendency to become “bloated” with indulgence and worldly cares or be weighed down by greed, gluttony, drunkenness and other harmful addictions and sinful habits. Guide me out of my darkness into Your glorious light as You give me the strength and guidance that I need to fight temptation and stay on the course which You have lovingly set for me. May I make good use of the freedom that You offer me by choosing what is whatever is good, right and true and rejecting whatever is evil and harmful for us. May You constantly remind me not to waste the graces of this present moment as I keep Your Word within my heart and let Your power mold my attitude, words and actions. May You allow the grace that flows out from Your wounded side to water my heart so that Your Word may bear abundant fruit in my life. Amen Based on Today’s Gospel: Luke 21:34-36
