November 30th is Small Business Saturday and I encourage you to shop local and cheer on the little guy. I own a small business that is locally owned and family owned and operated. This gives you a little idea of how family ran. My mother hand embroiders the dish towels, while helping me paint furniture, in between pricing new items that come in only after taking care of the greenhouse if my sisters/cousins cant help her out. When my aunt is done teaching she is tinkering in my garage creating new stuff then going home to make new pillow cases . . . .which reminds me of my mother sewing all of our pillows and transporting them to my place. I need help assembling some booth so I call my aunt and uncle then have to stop to answer a call from my cousin who just hand poured the new batch of soy candles and delivers them to The Shed. My uncle cuts down the corn stalks, while my cousins husband picks up the ingredients so his wife cane make the toffee, my dad buys another greenhouse. My son is mixing up his Russian Tea all while Hannah behind the till. When you shop small business the dollar you spend doesnt just affect me, it affects all of these family members and more - and I THANK YOU!
