November 3rd, 2013, two Cessna aircraft, owned by Skydive Superior - TopicsExpress

November 3rd, 2013, two Cessna aircraft, owned by Skydive Superior were performing a tracking dive with a lead Cessna 185, being closely followed by the Cessna 182 tracking aircraft. During the maneuver, the trailing Cessna inadvertently closed on the lead, and collided from high left with both aircraft in each others blind spots. Amazingly, all 9 skydivers survived the collision, as well as one pilot whom managed to bail out as his aircraft plummeted towards the surface from 12,000 feet above Superior, Wisconsin, while the other aircraft managed to complete a safe landing. In the video, you will notice the ruptured fuel tanks, and ensuing fire as one wing was torn off, and the other lost during the overspeed decent. Truly incredible that no one on board was hurt, and perhaps the most incredible footage ever captured of a mid air collision. Sierrahotel.net
