Participants at Make a Difference Day!! Cindi and Jeff gave us a report on Make a Difference Day held this past Saturday. Over 40 volunteers showed up and planted several thousand tulip bulbs, weeded, and picked up trash. The SRIB garden group has been energized to Adopt-a-Pot and they now have a master gardener on board and are very excited about this. They hope to plant another 1000 bulbs this Sunday. The tulips are red for the theme “Red up the Town.” They would like to send a special thank you out to Sharon Isacco. The SR Development received a grant from Shell and will be fixing sidewalks and “spiffing” up things that will also help SRIB. They are a great supporter. There’s more exciting news, SRIB has a new website. Go to srinbloom to see what else has been happening as well as some photos. Thanks to everyone for the great work you are doing for Slippery Rock and SRIB. Hank passed the hat and challenged everyone to donate to Feed My Sheep Food Cupboard. Hank will match all donations up to $500. Usually collected as part of Turkey Round-up, we may have missed the Thanksgiving drive, but will be well in time for Christmas help.
