November 5 Exhausted, he fell asleep under the lone broom bush. Suddenly an angel shook him awake and said, Get up and eat! He looked around and, to his surprise, right by his head were a loaf of bread baked on some coals and a jug of water. He ate the meal and went back to sleep. The angel of GOD came back, shook him awake again, and said, Get up and eat some more-youve got a long journey ahead of you. He got up, ate and drank his fill, and set out. Nourished by that meal, he walked forty days and nights, all the way to the mountain of GOD, to Horeb. 1 Kings 19:5-8 [MSG] There are certain requirements needed to get to a desired destination. A car going somewhere needs to be fully fueled before setting out on the journey. Everything in life is made in such a way that we require renewal from time to time. GOD made day and night not just for a separation but also for the purpose of rest and renewal, because at the end of each day, there is the need to get rest, get refreshed and renewed. Whatever you use without renewal will soon get exhausted or extinguished, and this applies to our spiritual lives. There is a need for a continuous process of renewal on a daily basis. Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with GOD is something powerful to be reckoned with. Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t—not a drop for three and a half years. Then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again. James 5:17 (MSG) Elijah had prayed to restore rain to the land and had seen a sign that the rain was about to fall. Things happen when we pray, and we also get strength in the place of prayer. One way to get strength is through prayer. Prayer is a spiritual exercise that connects us to the Almighty GOD. It’s one way in which we exchange our weakness for His strength. It is a spiritual measure that enables you to climb higher or above your challenges and oppositions. When you kneel before GOD, you grow taller before men. Dont run on low gas tank, get loaded before you start that project, get a word from GOD to keep you going, and equip yourself in the place of prayer. When the Heavens are loaded, GOD lets down His showers. Confession I know what to do and when to do it, I take time to get equipped and loaded for lifes journey by staying with the word and putting GOD first in every activity or project. I have capacity to take on territories by the strength that GOD supplies. I stay in GODs Presence, therefore my strength is renewed Bible Reading: John 9-11
