November 9, 2014 Have Mercy on Others - George Davis And refute [so as to] convict some who dispute with you, and on some have mercy who waver and doubt. Jude 1:22 (AMP) Jude commands you to have mercy on those who waver and doubt. Lamentations 3:22-23 says Gods faithfulness towards you is great and He has brand new compassion and mercy toward you every morning. The more revelation you receive from God that He loves you because of who He is, not because of anything that you have done, the more mercy you will be compelled to show towards others. Some Christians may find it easier to have mercy on unbelievers because they do not have a relationship with God and less patience with believers that know the Word. Other Christians may demonstrate mercy towards believers that are less mature and lack patience and with unbelievers who do not reverence God. The bottom line is to use the Word of God to refute those who may argue with you - the Word settles all disputes and varying viewpoints. Speak the truth in love and allow the Word of God to do its job, which is to open the hearts and eyes of those who hear it. The world expects Christians to be critical and judgmental. Show them the Father through your compassionate words and actions. The Word tells you to love those that hate you and despitefully use you. Have sympathy for those that do not recognize that they need Jesus and trust Him to give you what to say and how to say it. Prayer: Father, I thank You for Your great mercy towards me. I purpose to demonstrate the same love towards others and prove that I am a child of God. I pray that You give me opportunities to speak Your Word into the lives of those around me and draw them closer to You. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
