November Fishing Report With the weather warming up we are starting to see fish moving up into the shallows, some good size whiting are hitting lures with most fish being between 35 - 40cm, best times are late afternoon on the sand flats using poppers and shallow divers, prawn colours are your best bet. Last week seen a reasonably productive prawn run with reports of up to 4kg in 2 hours one night, we managed 1.45kg on Saturday night with the majority of prawns being a reasonable size for the lake, next months prawn run will be a busy one with everyone trying their luck to put a fresh feed on the table for Christmas. Tailor have been smashing bait on the surface around Coal Point and Green Point, they seem to be smaller schools of fish and just under legal size, flathead and Jew are never far away. Arrow Squid are slowly starting to come on around the drop over but hard to get enough for a feed, if your after fresh squid for bait you should be right. With the amount of witches hat floats on the surface over the last few weeks it would be safe to say blue swimmers are on, please remember to release all female crabs (jennys) in berry.
