November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Some one I love is - TopicsExpress

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Some one I love is fighting Lung Cancer. This isnt a call to those reading this to dig for more information by asking me for more personal details. Its not important. What is important is that if youre reading this post, that you are aware of the potential risks for anyone, smokers and non-smokers, to wait too late to get their lungs checked. Cold and Flu season is here and its easy to assume that a lingering cough may be just a cold that isnt going away. Its easy to think it may be just an allergy. If these symptoms dont start to alleviate after youve taken meds or you take antibiotics your doctor/physician prescribed to you to treat a lung infection and youre still not better or getting worse - do something about it! Take action for yourself. Speak up to the doctors or physicians that just tell you itll clear up, just wait. Bullshit. This happened to my loved one and she had to be the one to suggest that the doctor should take an x-ray of her lungs just in case. It wasnt the doctors who thought to suggest that they take an x-ray of her lungs and they werent going to. You have to be an advocate for your own health. Speak up. Demand tests. Ask questions. Press for answers. Dont wait. The road back to health for someone diagnosed with Lung Cancer too late is not easy at all. Chemo, radiation, weakness, and a broken spirit. Take care of yourselves and take care of your loved ones. If you are a smoker, stop that shit. Youre not only hurting yourself and those around you with the second hand, youre hurting your loved ones by either giving them Lung Cancer in the future just by being around your second hand smoke. AND if that doesnt happen, it is very possible that YOU as a smoker will DIE of Lung Cancer from your Smoking habit which will later hurt your loved ones when they have to live through the pain of watching you die. Get real and stop ignoring the facts with an oh well attitude. Ignorance is bless for fools and the selfish. My loved one is struggling in the Fight of her Life. You can help make a difference donating to Help Find a Cure. I would be grateful. I hope that if you comment on this post that it is not to ask me personal questions about my family. Any questions asking for any private details about my family will be in bad taste and will be unappreciated. That said, if you donate please share that.
