November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness & Caregiver Month. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia in the USA. However, there are different forms of dementia. We heard last week that the actor and comedian Robin Williams had recently been diagnosed with Lewy body dementia. It is the second most common form of dementia in the USA and very much resembles Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The only tools we have against these distressing diseases are finding and applying the best information available to us, and being proactive in our own health and well-being. There are many in the health community who believe there are proactive steps we can take to improve and maintain brain health. OneWorld will post that blog in a few days.
