November is National Military Family Month! November is National Native American and Alaska Native Heritage Month! Theres a FREE movie every Friday and Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Aurora Community Activity Center. Call 873-4782 for movie listings. Womens Bible study is held every Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. - both sessions meet in the Chapel Annex. Mens fellowship is held every Friday at Noon – locations alternate between the Launch Room Dining Facility and the Chapel Annex. Practice times for the Delta-Greely Community Choir Concert are on Thursday evenings 7 to 9 p.m. at the Delta High School Band Room until Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving, choir practice will be held on Tuesdays same time and place. Dress rehearsal is Dec. 9 at the Chapel. Concert is Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 & 19: Delta Jct. City Council Meeting, 5 p.m. at City Hall. If you are interested in whats going on in the City of Delta Jct., you are welcome and encouraged to attend. Nov. 6: Can you retire at age 65? This is your opportunity to let us know about issues to may have regarding Fort Greely, the Garrison or the U.S. Army. Boxes for comments or suggestions are located at North Haven, the Fitness Center, Aurora Community Activity Center, Post Office, Child Development Center, Army Community Services and the AAFES Troop Store. Nov. 7: Learn how to manage symptoms for SAD Seasonal Affective Disorder from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Post Chapel. Call 873-4649 for more information. Nov. 9: Women of the Moose Holiday Bazaar 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Moose Lodge on Jack Warren Road. This event is open to everyone and there is no price for entry. Nov. 10 & 17: The Chapel is participating in Operation Christmas Child (samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/pack-a-shoebox-with-uncle-si/). Boxes are available on the pew in the foyer at the main (back) entrance to the Chapel. Main collection dates are November 10 and November 17, but you may drop boxes off at the Chapel any time. Nov. 11: The American Legion Jack Warren Post #22 is hosting a Veterans Day Service on Monday, Nov. 11 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Moose Lodge located at 2622 Texas Ave; 1/2 Mile Jack Warren Rd. Ceremony includes: Honor Guard, remarks by local veterans organizations, and a POW/MIA remembrance ceremony conducted by your local American Legion Post #22 and VFW Post 10450. Cold Regions Test Center Commander, COL Charles Chuck May, will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome to attend. Nov. 12-15: Resiliency Training Assistants class 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Aurora Community Activity Center. At the completion of this four-day training session all participants will be able to assist and train alongside a certified Master Resiliency Trainer Instructor. This portion covers the mental pillar of resiliency training. All three resiliency training pillars: mental, physical and spiritual are available for anyone to attend. Nov. 14 & 15: Resiliency Luncheons from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Aurora Community Activity Center. These luncheons cover the spiritual pillar of resiliency training. The Knitting Circle meets on first Mondays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Delta Community Library. Everyone welcome -- come knit, sip tea, swap patterns and trade yarn with like-minded yarn lovers -- yes, were also crochet friendly! Junction Readers Book Club meets third Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Delta Community Library. Join us for lively discussions - we read one book per month.
