Novorossiya Ukraine: Kiev under fire as another mass grave uncovered in Donetsk Excavations of mass graves near the village of Nyzhnia Krynka in eastern Ukraine continued on Monday, leading to the remains of five more bodies removed from the ground. One local said that he witnessed executions conducted by the Ukrainian Army and even tried to assist one of those who had been shot. It remains unclear just how many bodies are left to be found after the initial discovery of four missing women with their hands tied on Monday 22 September. Locals claim there could be dozens more mass graves in the area. An investigation into the incident and the process of identifying the victims is ongoing, with one man aged 21 already having been formally identified by his mother. At least one body had been decapitated, further complicating the identification process. Human Rights activists from Europe have reportedly arrived at the scene while the self-proclaimed Donetsk Peoples Republic forces accuse the Ukrainian military of crimes against humanity. SOT Anatoli, resident of Nyzhnia Krynka village (in Russian): “That’s the place they were shot. I saw that with my own eyes. After that one who managed to stay alive was given first aid, but he still died.”
