Novorossiya Ukraine: Massive DPR flag unfurled in Donetsks Lenin Square A huge Peoples Republic of Donetsk flag was sewn and raised over a building in Donetsks Lenin Square on Sunday. Hundreds of supporters of the self-proclaimed Peoples Republic of Donetsk took part, waving flags and holding balloons in the colours of the DPR. Prime Minister of DPR, Aleksandr Zakharchenko, attended the event. The massive red, black and blue flag is 30 metres long and 25 metres wide. The black stripe allegedly represents the areas fertile land and rich coal reserve, while the blue stands for the spirit of the people and the waters of the Azov Sea, while the red represents the blood spilt for freedom of the people. The DPR flag was approved by DPR authorities on June 21. On Saturday Zakharchenko announced the DPR may begin to issue passports over the next week, and is planning to adopt Moscow time.
