It can be dissolved directly in the water phase of a formulation, at ambient or warm temperatures. Alternatively, it can be pre-dissolved in a portion of cool water, prior to addition to the batch. If pre-dissolved, it should be added to the batch immediately upon dissolving to prevent the potential for thickening.
