Now I came to understand from a very young age that nothing in my life is perfectly normal. Today is my day off as I am working this weekend so I took myself off to the allotment early. Dug a large area ,planted potatoes ,picked some flowers and tied up the broad bean plants. The last bit of digging produced what appeared to be a potato from last year. Nothing unusual about that .This potato was the size of a large hens egg and a lovely light brown colour. I examined it and decided that it bust be a stone. No it was an egg. I broke it open to confirm this. Has anyone an idea as to how a hens egg would come to be berried six inches under the soil? Do foxes bury eggs?
