Now I want you to know, brothers, that my circumstances have - TopicsExpress

Now I want you to know, brothers, that my circumstances have happened instead for the progress of the gospel, so that my imprisonment in Christ has become known in the whole praetorium and to all the rest, and most of the brothers, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, dare even more to speak the word without fear. Some even because of envy and strife preach Christ, but some also because of good will. The latter do so from love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. The former proclaim Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, thinking to raise up affliction in my imprisonment. What is the result? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. -Philippians 1:12-18 Paul wasnt in the best of situations. He was under house arrest and surrounded by people who didnt like him. Nevertheless, he remained upbeat because he saw it as an opportunity given to him by God. Rather than become bitter and complain, he preached the gospel to the Roman soldiers and remained upbeat. His only expectation in the situation was that Christ will be magnified, and that was met. Sometimes we are put into situations that we didnt hope to be in. Nevertheless, we need to stand up to the challenge and thrive in it. Paul turned his situation around simply by his attitude. We can all take a lesson from Paul when we are put into less-than-perfect situations.
