Now Im not complaining about the consumer-directed change in when the Christmas season begins which is November 1 now but Im making an observation. Until that change November was all about looking forward to Thanksgiving. Not that I celebrate the holidays particularly but I enjoy other peoples celebrating. I like to see store decorations and house decorations. Thats sort of my way of celebrating--watching what others do. It used to be and not that long ago that Walmart had a section of beautiful manufactured Thanksgiving decorations during November. All the emphasis was on Thanksgiving everywhere. I do miss that. I mean I dont like turkeys as decorations. People KILL turkeys for Thanksgiving. Turkey decorations are kind of macabre. But I love pilgrim decorations and the colors orange, brown, and yellow as the decorative palette. Gourds and pumpkins. It was such an awesome thing about the month of November. People still do it but it sort of pales next to the glitter of Christmas which has encroached upon the 11th month.
