Now THIS is an exciting picture and one for the history books.....These images taken by Gary Trinder show the casting taking place at J.J.Siddons in West Bromich of the seat stansions which are exact Cast Iron replicas of the originals in situe in The Plaza Super Cinema and Variety Theatre in 1932. J.J.Siddons have been trading for over 160 years and have been contracted by Kirwin and Simpson who designed the moulds for the stansions from original images of our seating and catalogues to create these works of art. With a casting process which sees temperatures soaring to 1400 degress Centigrade in the kilns the stansions for our new seating capacity of 1317 seats will look stunning when they are installed in August.
