Now That You Are Married #42 My son, Tyler married Emilie on May 30th. Two weeks before they got married, I started writing advice to Tyler. My intent was simply a father writing to his son, but I decided to post the first several on Facebook. I thought perhaps someone else might benefit. Im not a marriage expert or a marriage conference speaker. Im just a husband and a Dad that wants his sons to have wonderful, healthy, lifelong marriages. I want them to avoid mistakes Ive made, and to learn from my successes. Its been fun sharing those with Tyler and Parker and with many of you. Today is my final post of marriage advice. Many, many of you have asked if I will compile them for a book. Im working on it, talking to Influence Resources (publisher for both my books) and think its going to happen. Im honored if youve found a nugget or two among my many posts. Last week I was in Hong Kong where the time is 13 hours ahead of my home in North Little Rock. By noon in Arkansas, it’s the next day in Hong Kong! I missed my younger sons birthday, but I sent him a text. I told him, You are going to love tomorrow! Your birthday is great. I’ve already seen it and it’s wonderful!” Tyler and Emilie, you are going to love your tomorrows. Cindy and I are not just 13 hours ahead of you, we are 9,841 tomorrows ahead! You can look forward to many years of wonderful tomorrows. Yesterday is gone. Celebrate the memories even as you leave the hurts and pain in the past. Cherish today as a gift from God. Anticipate tomorrow. God has great things in store for you. I pray you follow God in a lifetime of obedience and enjoy His richest blessings. He is faithful for yesterday, today and tomorrow!
