Tabu, oh Tabu , just sweeps you off your feet with her Brilliant depiction of the mauji . shahid kapur and Kay Kay do a decent job. Shahid Kapur in the second half comes alive thanks to Chutzpah and does his character justice. Kay Kay falls apart justa bit in the second half. I wanted to see more of Sraddha Kapoor. That girl can act. But the man of the moment is Irfan Khan. With the help of Roohdar Bhardwaj leaves the nuanced political background and effortlessly shifts into Brad-asmic territory. Hamlet may have a incestuous undertone but I dont think it was the same in haider. Yes Haider longs for his mother sans the erotica. The film gives the mainstream audience an idea of detention ccamps (MAMA 2/PAPA 2) , mass graves, half widows and disappeared people. A bid thank you to Bhardwaj for exploring unknown territory.
