“Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the World, He loved them unto the end”. (John 13 vs 1). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. Today’s Focal Scripture reveals that it was time for Jesus to depart out of the world and return to his Father. It didn’t say that it was time for Jesus to die; it only said that Jesus was on His way back to the Father. The physical death of Jesus was supposed to happen before He could return to His Father in Heaven. He needed to go through the pain of crucifixion and death before stepping into the glory of His Father’s abode in heaven. Notice that our Focal Scripture did not focus on the death that Jesus was about to accomplish; it focused on the glory He was about to return to. It didn’t focus on the hurts and pains that Jesus was about to experience; it focused on the glorious event that was set to happen after the pains. Friend, hear God’s Word to you: Beyond the pains of today, there is a glory that will be revealed in you tomorrow. Don’t focus on what is happening to you right now; focus on what God is about to make happen. Don’t focus on the hurts, pains, betrayals, disappointments, rejection etc that may have happened to you; God says, there is something better ahead of you. Look beyond where you are now and focus on where God is about to take you to. Like the Song-Writer would say, “Your Latter will be greater than your Past”. Be encouraged; Your Best is yet to come!
