Now come to the point of Assamese Muslim and Assam As per the history of medieval Assam says that Muslim came to Assam before the Ahom came here. It was 1205 (AC), Ali Mecch was the first Muslim in Assam who was the leader of Mecch community and converted to Islam which means it was 25 years before the Ahom cam to Assam. That was the starting of Muslim resident in Assam . It was naked truth that Ali Mecch just converted his religion but his culture and tradition was still Assamese as large number of proofs we have seen and concerned people know it. Another source says that Turkey’s army attacked China in 1205 (AC) and a few were returning via Assam and they had failed to cross Assam some unknown facts and stayed Assam permanently. Latter Mughal, Gaur and much more Muslim community came here and accepted Assam as their mother land. Such way, Muslim community becomes the integral parts of Assam and Assamese culture.
