Now, dont get me wrong...I talk a lot. In fact, I often talk too much. However, I write much more intelligently than I speak. This morning in church was proof of that fact. Our pastor, David Perry, asked for people to stand and share a word of their faith, their moment of conviction when they accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, or the testimony of their path to Christ. I wanted so badly to have the strength, clarity of mind, and ability to stand and speak without crying, but I had already formed a major lump in my throat and my eyes had already begun to leak, so I knew Id better sit and just listen. However, if I had spoken, I would have said that God just repeatedly makes me thankful. I am thankful that He loves me, unworthy as I am. I am thankful that He sees the good in me, despite all the bad. But most of all, I am thankful that He is a forgiving God of second, third, even five thousand one hundred twelfth chances, because I fail Him each day, sometimes every hour. Yet, He is still there to hear me ask for His forgiveness, to support me as I continue to try to live as an example of Him, and to catch me again and again, as I stumble and fall. Thank You, God, for Your love and forgiveness. Thank You for having a plan for my life, even when I lose my way. And thank You for making me not perfect, but perfectly forgiven.
