Now for a segment, id like to call Breaking It Down Behind the music. Today i am picking a song by a few well known artist. The song was originally written and released under the Gaza label by a young man from Athens, Ga. by the name of Wayne Cochran in 1961. The song failed to become a hit and was later revived in 1963 by a group called J. Wilson & The Cavaliers, which gave it notoriety in the beginning of a sound known now as rock n roll. The song has been covered and performed by many other artist and was recently on the radio as a re-release by the contemporary rock group Pearl Jam. Tho, both songs have the same lyrics and style. Pearl Jam slowed the original down and gave it more of a driven beat. Below i will isolate each instrument as they are broken down into covers of each instrument in the song. You will see all the elements that made the Newer version almost as great as the classic. Here is the Pearl Jam Version of the song Last Kiss complete with lyrics and chords, just in case you are wanting to learn and play along. Enjoy ;)
